Today's word of the day is Amae.
Amae is a weirdly specific word, more even noun and if you have kids it's a lifestyle more than just a thing. The act of not getting something done so that someone else will do it for you. How long do parents tie shoes after their kids pretend not to learn? This phenomenon is widespread to all children, not just the lazy ones. I have one of each, I should know. As a parent and sort of lay myself, the day turns into a stand-off sometimes and the only real loser is the kid that's not lazy.
This is not an advocation of Amae it might not be a choice. I'd love to be more productive it's just my personality that holds me back says anyone looking for a new word as an excuse for their lazy life.
The Illustrated Compendium of Weirdly Specific Words is fun and entertaining so I want to share. Tyler has a great sense of humor and I asked if I can record a Word of the Day post to help brighten everyone's day. I also think you should get a copy of the book.
