The Little Match Girl is a sad tale of a poor little girl. I find its story to be bittersweet because the picture Hans Christian Anderson draws is of a sad little girl that cannot return home. The fear of disappointment with resulting abuse is a strange way to say Happy New Year.
My recommendation is to wait until after New Year's Eve to listen to the story so I help off on this post.
